Welcome to Year 1! 

The children have made a great start to Year 1 and have settled into their new classrooms fantastically.

Our approach to teaching and learning in Year 1 is built upon the strong foundations established in our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We teach our curriculum through whole-class inputs and continuous provision which allows the children to explore their interests as well as develop their understanding in different subjects. As children transition from Reception to Year 1, continuous provision plays a vital role in ensuring this progression is seamless, developmentally appropriate and engaging. Research highlights that play should not abruptly end when children enter Key Stage 1, as it continues to be a powerful driver of holistic development. 

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Library is fortnightly every Tuesday.
