Starting School (Reception)

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 are due to start school in September 2026.

You must apply for a school place through the local authority in which you live. 

For most families wishing for their child/children to attend Gothic Mede Academy, that will be Central Bedfordshire Council.

Central Bedfordshire's application period is now open. There are two ways to apply for a school place: online or by filling out a paper application form.

The deadline for on-time applications will be Wednesday 15th January 2026 and families will find out which school their child/children have been allocated on national offer day, which is Thursday 16 April 2026.

Late applications can be made online until Wednesday 30 April 2026. After this date, you will need to submit a paper application until the transfer round closes on Friday 22 August 2026.

Late allocations offer date is 1st June 2026
