Year 4 Curriculum
Below you will find the learning intentions and success criteria for our maths and English lessons. These show the focuses of the lessons and what things we look for in the lesson. We expect all children to achieve the 'Must', most children to achieve the 'Should' and a few children who feel more confident with the learning intention will achieve the 'Could' statements.
Although we have presented what we do each week in the English documents, these are subject to change.

All children have login details for Mathletics and we would really encourage them to spend 15 or 20 minutes a day working through the activities. The activities are set at an appropriate level of challenge for each child and we are able to monitor their progress.
NRICH is a free resource that has lots of activities to 'deepen' and 'broaden' children's mathematical understanding and help them achieve 'mastery.'
The Khan Academy is another free resource that helps children understand and master key mathematical concepts and skills. The 'big idea' behind Khan is that children can learn BEFORE they come to school. Then, teachers can spend time addressing misconceptions and misunderstandings and working on the 'next steps' in learning. This link takes you to the maths area, but there are many more things to learn from Khan Academy!
