Rowan - Miss Howley and Mrs Clift
We hope the children enjoyed the Easter break and have their batteries recharged for the last term at Gothic Mede Academy!
The children had a very busy and 'messy' first few days back with 'Arts around the World'. The chosen place for Year 4 to study was Africa. The children made Papier-mâché African masks from milk bottles, drew African animals, studied different countries in Africa, took part in African drumming, African dancing and then, if that wasn't enough, showcased their work at the end of the week as an art gallery to parents.
The second week back saw lots of children travelling to PGL, Caythorpe court to take part in many activities and it certainly put their bravery to the test! The children that went had an absolutely fantastic time. It was so lovely to see the children outside of school, putting the values of courage, perseverance, friendship and thoughtfulness to the test! The children were supporting each other in their activities, even if they didn't complete one. We hope that the children had a great time and have made some good memories even though the weather was not that kind to us!
In Science, we have been looking at sound and how it is made. The children investigated sound with tuning forks, water and rice to see the vibrations.
