Hazel - Miss Fye
The highlight of the spring term in year four is always the visit to the O2 Arena to join children from around the country and perform as part of the 7,000 strong Young Voices Choir. This year was no exception and once again the pupils of year 4 made us proud with exemplary behaviour and infectious enthusiasm.
For Science Week the children had the opportunity to investigate states of matter through a range of investigations and discussion. They were particularly engaged by the candle workshop that was held to introduce the topic.
Outdoor on the field in relatively balmy weather, our Wednesday afternoons were devoted to developing our football skills as part of the FA Lidl Skills programme. This saw a professional coach come in to school to not only deliver training to the year 4 classes, but also run a girls-only lunchtime club.
Here at Gothic Mede, we enjoyed an extended World Book Day, with the official day being devoted to ‘bedtime stories,’ followed, later in the term, by a visit from James Mayhew, author of the Katie books, who told us the Firebird story while creating a fantastic piece of art.
